Daily Nugget: Time for War
An English saying goes “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop”. At this time where many people find themselves under lock-down due to the world-wide pandemic, it is the ideal time for personal reflection on one’s life’s purpose. Hopefully many will ‘find God’ and discover His true intent and purpose for their lives. What better time than this, to make sure that we are not idle, but fully engaged in Spiritual Warfare?!
It is a time to storm the gates of hell and seek to “stand in the gap” on behalf of family, the nation and the world at large!
King David, in the bible made the mistake once of choosing to relax and idle around at a Time of War.
2Samuel 11:1 “In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem”
We all know that this story did not end well. As David was idling around on the roof of his palace, he saw Bathsheba bathing and lusted after her. He then proceeded to sleep with her and did not stop at that; he also plotted the murder of her husband Uriah. This moment of idleness resulted in painful seeds of adultery and murder being planted in David’s family; and those seeds haunted David and his family thereafter.
This is not a time to relax and be idle, for this will only open the door for the devil to plant the wrong seeds in our minds and hearts. Seeds of hopelessness and despair; seeds of negativity, doom and gloom; seeds of Fear in place of Faith!
Let God’s people and their families arise; for it is a Time for War!
